Durable SINOTRUK HOWO 6X4 371HP Dump Truck For Sierra Leone

Early last month, a mining contractor based in Sierra Leone contacted us through our official website. The client informed us that they had recently secured a contract for topsoil stripping and raw iron ore transportation at a newly opened mining site, and they required the procurement of four cost-effective, rugged, and durable SINOTRUK HOWO 6x4 Dump Trucks. These trucks would be deployed within the mining area for high-frequency, short-haul shuttle operations, requiring them to operate under heavy loads almost around the clock. This places extremely high demands on vehicle reliability.

Sierra Leone is characterized by year-round high temperatures and intense sun exposure. Inside the mining pits, the terrain consists largely of long, steep, unpaved ramps; when fully loaded heavy trucks descend these slopes, there is a significant risk of brake overheating and failure, while engines frequently trigger high-temperature warnings. Furthermore, iron ore is dense and angular; when heavy-duty excavators load the trucks from a height, the resulting impact force is immense. Standard dump trucks are prone to severe side-panel bulging and tailgate tearing under such prolonged operational stress that would seriously impede the progress of the entire mining project.

To address the specific local climatic and environmental conditions, we implemented targeted upgrades to the cooling and braking systems. To mitigate the issue of overheating, we installed a low-temperature 71°C thermostat; this allows the coolant to initiate its large-loop circulation earlier, ensuring that the vehicle's water temperature remains stable even when climbing steep grades under heavy loads in the scorching sun. Additionally, the entire fleet was equipped with an EVB (Exhaust Valve Brake) system. This provides powerful auxiliary braking force during long descents, significantly reducing wear and thermal fade on the primary brake pads, and effectively eliminating the risk of losing control while descending under full load.

To address structural damage to the cargo box, we constructed the entire cargo box using high-strength steel with a bottom thickness of 10 mm and sides of 8 mm. The sides are densely covered with polygonal anti-bulging reinforcement ribs, easily withstanding the violent loading and unloading by excavators. The bottom of the tailgate features a specially reinforced, heavy-duty "7-shaped hook" locking mechanism; this design fundamentally eliminates the risk of tailgate tearing caused by frequent dumping operations, thereby truly guaranteeing the reliability of the trucks during their mining site operations.
